At Epiphany we believe being baptised into the Body of Christ, means that we are called into a new life with Christ and one another.
Epiphany is therefore committed to establishing “Life Groups” throughout the church which encourage fellowship, Bible study and prayer amongst parishioners, as modelled by the early believers in Acts 2:42 “The believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
These Life Groups provide an intimate and confidential space for likeminded Christians to support one during difficult times and celebrate God’s blessing and work in their lives.
Life Groups are intended to have a two-year life cycle and every Life Group leader is encouraged to identify someone within their group to mentor as a future leader.
In the second year of a Life Group cycle, the leadership of the group should be increasingly handed over to the person being mentored in preparation for them to take over the group.
The expectation is that a Life Group will split into two groups in its third year, one under the supervision of the original leader and the other under the leadership of the new leader.
The dividing of groups every two years enables life groups to maintain their vitality and freshness; encourages the expansion of life groups within the church and helps avoid clichés.
